Exciton-polariton properties of hexagonal BN-based microcavity and their potential applications in BEC and superconductivity

Microcavity exciton-polaritons are two-dimensional bosonic quasiparticles composed by excitons and photons. Using model Hamiltonian with parameters generated from ab initio density-functional theory Bathe-Salpeter Equation calculations, we investigate the exciton exciton-polariton properties of hexagnonal boron nitride (hBN) based microcavity. We show that hBN microcavities, including monolayer all-dielectric ones, promising in optoelectronic applications. Room temperature Bose-Einstein Condensation can be achieved because large oscillating strength binding energy exciton, strong interaction between longitudinal optical phonons. Based on this BEC state, mediated superconducting device also fabricated at such moderate temperatures using microcavity structure proposed Laussy et al.
